Why Most Prompts Fail
Most people talk to AI the way they'd talk to a search engine — a few words, a vague idea, and a hope it figures out the rest.
It doesn't. AI isn't guessing what you mean; it's answering exactly what you typed. "Write me an email" gets a generic email, because that's all it was asked for. Begin with the Goal
Say what you want to walk away with, not just the topic. Not "help with a budget email" — "an email that gets my manager to approve next quarter's budget without sounding like I'm asking for a favor."
Explain the Context
Give AI what it can't guess: who this is for, what's already happened, what tone matters. Context is the difference between a generic answer and one that fits your situation.
Ask Clearly
Be specific about the format, the length, and the exact ask. "Three bullet points," "under 100 words," "in a friendly but direct tone" — clarity here removes almost all the back-and-forth.
Test and Tweak
The first answer is a draft, not a verdict. Read it, adjust one thing, ask again. BEAT assumes a short back-and-forth, not a single perfect shot — which is exactly how the pros use it.
